CHÂTEAUNEUF DU PAPE

Châteauneuf du Pape means “The Pope’s New Crib”. This holy drop strongly benefited from the Popes’ time in Avignon during the 14th century when they set up their summer residence here. A generous wine with truly desirable traits. Amen.

An intense ruby wine with purple tints. A very strong nose of jammy red fruits, kirsch liqueur and black berries. After aeration, more complexity with notes of laurel, pepper, cardamom and resiny pine forest. A full-bodied wine with elegant tannins. Pleasant freshness at the finish with spicy notes.

Vintage: 2014

Blend: 80% Grenache, 10% Syrah, 7% Mourvèdre, 3% Cinsault

Perfectly paired with a saddle of lamb roasted in juniper berry.
